a few changes around here and a giveaway!

See the new heading ?! ^  I feel a little explanation is needed...

As you know, stewart & james is a company Arre and I started...we made frames out of reclaimed wood and then we became busy with life.  We took a "break" and realized how nice that was (wood had become scarce and keeping our product how we originally envisioned was starting to become quite a challenge!)

During the break - I started making earrings, sweet em was created (as I explained in this post).  Arre is still enjoying her break with her sweet baby, but she will still stop in every once and a while for a post because what would this blog be without her?!  Not nearly as pretty, imaginative, and well written that's for sure!

Also, on etsy or facebook you may have seen those pretty ears and well styled photos?  That is in large thanks to Arre and her eye for style... so she's not totally uninvolved :) And maybe she will start something that I know will be worth following.

We are excited to get back to blogging and hope to keep these pages filled much more often.  Thank you to all that have continued to follow us in this break and as a thanks to you all we are offering a giveaway.

When Arre and I get together for our meetings we try to pack in as much as we can.  We almost always say the same thing as we are locking up the shop to leave.."we forgot to take pictures!"   I guess to prove to you blog readers that we are doing something :)  Last week I remembered though..just for you.

My girls have some sweet friends that (i believe) have made an appearance on the blog a time or two before.  This family has two girls (harper & hadley) that are two of my girls' age (molly & mills) and go to the same schools, have the same dance classes, and can't get enough of each other!  Their sweet mom wanted me to do a frame for her mom of the girls and I just love how it turned out.

Going on hiatus

Yep you heard it right.  s&j is going to take a little break.  We will still update you on the blog from time to time but for now we are trying to prioritize our lives a little better.  With Arre's bundle of joy set to arrive THIS month and my kids growing up much faster than I expected (I will admit, I was warned) s&j has taken a bit of a backseat for us.  We have always had so much fun with this venture that started out as a simple need for a few frames and turned into a business that has led us to get to know so many people that would have otherwise never entered our lives.  We are grateful for all of you s&j supporters and friends so don't leave us just yet!

If you already have an order placed with us do not worry - we are on it!  We plan to wrap up all orders before the end of the month.  We are just no longer taking new orders for the time being.  We will have some extra frames for a little early Christmas shopping so don't be a stranger.  Besides..aren't you dying to know what Arre is having?!  Me too so stick around.

Good morning! and Happy March (although this month is almost over, how did that happen?!) March of twenty twelve seems to have everyone adding a little spring to their step. Let's face it, January is just plain gloomy, February starts to brighten our moods just a tad (well that is if you like Valentine's day) and March hits us with warm afternoons that have everyone dreaming of that light at the end of the tunnel - summer vacations and days spent by the pool. March also has had many of you putting your spending hats on - (s and j thanks you march).

And we thank YOU for keeping us busy :)

2011: the second half…

(plus a few days into 2012) captured via cell phone.  Isn’t it convenient and frustrating at the same time that a lot of our lives are captured by cell phone cameras and are rarely organized to fit in or order with our “regular” pictures?  I downloaded 700 pictures from the second half of the year that were capture on my cell phone and here the highlights are, as organized as they will get!
