MY "office"

April 1 Office
April 1 Office by aflow on Polyvore.com

is often thought about, never worked on. last week a friend's observation "and i see you've done... nothing with this room" reminded me that, oh yeh, all of the updates i've done to my office have been in my head! it still looks exactly the same to everyone who doesn't live in there ('there' being my head, not my office). i'm not exactly (at all) in a position to actually purchase these items - and my mind, as you will see, is oft-changing - so i'm just going to blog about them. for now...

ain't no joke

Kristen had her baby! Yesterday though - so the precious babe doesn't have the whole birthday-is-a-joke thing to contend with for the rest of her life.

i don't have the "right" picture :( yet check back soon...

Liya Kebede is SO much more than a gorgeous face. She has most recently created a line of children's clothing with which she is not only working to contribute to economic wellbeing of her native land but also helping preserve the country's art of producing a traditional handwoven cloth. The New York Daily News can tell it better than I.

(i usually think) April Fool's is mean

like last year when Erika emailed me that she was pregnant. with twins. i almost wrecked trying to read and re-read (i know, i know, i should not, repeat: should NOT be checking my email while driving - it's a bit of a vice) and call her cell and call her office and FIND HER to share my excitement only to learn that she wasn't even with child. singular or otherwise. (e, maybe this sheds a little light on my hesitancy to embrace everything you tell me with wild abandon about this child you are now actually with) a lot of trickery hurts my feelings actually (i know, i totally married the wrong guy). even if it isn't done to me it hurts my feeling for the tricked person. i do, however, have appreciation for some tom foolery. i have a friend who was born on April 1 and as his mom announced his arrival to her friends she proudly exclaimed "IT'S A GIRL!" now that is funny.

if i ever have a *real* office

can it please have these? or at least a chair and desk with proportions that don't cause me to lose circulation in parts of my body i don't even have the energy to explain.
