*update: tomorrow is my sweeeeet grandfather's birthday and i totally didn't think about when i made the declaration i was going to try this that i would be lunching with him. and about 20 other people. in a restaurant. where i am guessing i wouldn't be allowed inside if i were in fact participating. i get it Tom, i get it.*

Easter

Happy Easter!

While we didn't have your typical Easter (3 down with a stomach bug - 2 kids, 1 husband) and a deliriously tired "easter bunny"..we did our best! I was so sad we didn't get a family picture, but I tried to capture the day the best i could! Here are some pics..hope you had a fabulous one!

easter baskets! yes - all Mills got was a pack of pacifiers... my 1 week postpartum trip to Target proved to be tragically insufficient.

they didn't notice though!

Thank goodness for my mom - the next 2 pictures she took on the day, then the last 2 a couple of days before at an egg hunt!










I don't know what to do with this kid - we are having a friend take pictures on Friday and this is what we get out of her. I think it's adorable and totally her personality but will it go over good in sweet pictures with her sisters?! We will see!

while in Atlanta last week I stumbled upon madewell. i was familiar with the name but didn't remember the style. being lauded as J.Crew's hipper, (younger?) sister (they are actually related), madewell gets mixed reviews - including from me. online shopping is not available and the website is really disappointing (what is shown there makes me think i am wrong for loving them, which is why there this post lacks an image). my mind's eye is keen though and if i do recall ... they had some great shoes, cute casual clothes and cool scarves (yes, even for Summer. this coming from someone who was taunted for wearing a (fabulous, if i do say so myself) bright yellow linen scarf out one breezy night at the beach last Summer). trust me here, get to an actual store before you judge.

a little (more) blog love

just a picture message she sent early one morning - can you guess what she was having for breakfast? *sigh*

A few months back Jora wrote about La Milpa Organica Farm in Escondido, California. In true form, I (from Southwest Georgia) forwarded the link to my sister (in Savannah). The email included 'oohs' and 'aaahs' and 'wish we were theres' and that was it. Until said Sister reported that she was MOVING THERE! (at which time my precious grandfather, who proudly lives tucked away with his bride of 55 years on a farm in Alabama, asked couldn't she find a farm anywhere closer than one in California to work at!)

so, move she did (at the rate of approximately one state per day, i might add). and Jora, she met. and melt, did my heart. in a time where we are chided for not spending enough face time and too many (supposedly empty) cyber relationships fill our days, i welled right up with pride to see how, in fact, small this great big machine we call the internet made the very world seem.
